I'm Back

My trip was much different than planned. I ended up staying in Korea the whole time. Why is that? I spent too much money at the start of my trip so I could not go to China or Japan. The good thing about my trip is that I spoke Korean the whole time. I met a lot of nice Korean girls, but not the one. I guess I have to keep trying.

Change of Plans

As much as I would like to visit China it seems that buying a decent plane ticket is not cheap. Since going at the start of my trip would put me on a tight budget, I have decided not to go. If I do go it will be at the end of my trip.

I really need to do the best I can to have a nice trip, and to give myself as many opportunites to meet the kind of girl that I want to meet. The main goal of my trip is represented well in this picture above.

Got My Visa

Well I got my visa. I worked out my budget and I can go to China for a few days.
I want to have a nice trip, and not be too worried about my budget.
It is a little difficult to stay focused on my goal sometimes, but not too hard.

My main goal is to meet the woman of my dreams. This is not easy. Korean or Japanese
girls with giant breasts do not grow on trees. They are out there somewhere.
My secondary goal is to speak the lingo. The English students are so friendly, and happy but I have to keep in mind that I need to speak as much as possible in Korean and Japanese.

Asia Trip Summer 2009

Hi, my name is Jesse. I am a New Yorker, I'm American, and I am trilingual (English, Korean, Japanese). I am just starting this blog about my trip to Asia during September 2009. I have never blogged before, and I wanted to but never got around to it before. So here I am. I am going to Korea, Japan, and China (if I get a tourist visa) for one month. Also, I will be blogging in English, Korean, and Japanese.

Friday the 31st of July was really were my trip has begun. I went to the Chinese consulate in New York City to apply for a tourist visa. It would be no big deal, but I asked to go to Jilin. This is the Chinese-Korean area, and is close to North Korea. I am not going anywhere close to the border!

I am not going to Jilin for long, only three days, but I hope to get some idea of the Chinese-Korean people and the language (and girls). In some ways I think it would be safer not to go, but I am not going to do much but visit the city center, meet some internet friends, and go out to eat. From China I will go to Korea for three weeks, then finally Japan.

At this point I am anxious about my China tourist visa. I was honest with the consulate official. I explained that I study Korean and want to meet friends in Yanji city. I figure that if they allow me it is a good sign that it is safe enough to go. However, if they turn me down then it probably is not a good place to go now.

My next entry will be on Wednesday, after I obtain a decision from the Chinese consulate.
